BROCKTON — Two people were shot near Westgate Mall in Brockton on Saturday evening, according to police.

Brockton Police responded to the parking lot near Starbucks and Chipotle Mexican Grill, both located on Westgate Drive, near the Westgate Mall, at about 7 p.m. Saturday, March 22, following reports of several teenagers fighting, Brockton Police spokesperson Darren Duarte said in a written statement Saturday evening, March 22, to The Enterprise.

“During this altercation, two individuals were shot,” Duarte said.

Duarte said Brockton Police detectives and patrol officers, along with State Police, are currently investigating.

The Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office is leading the ongoing investigation, he said.
