Arrested man NAMED after ‘knife blade’ incident sparks police chase in city

The incident occurred yesterday evening (Tuesday, March 4) as the Oxford South East Neighbourhood Team were patrolling Donnington Recreation Ground in plain clothes.

This was following reports of drug dealing and anti-social behaviour in the area.

A male made off from officers on Freelands Road and officers caught up with the male on Donnington Bridge Road.

Officers today (Thursday, March 6) have now revealed that Shaquille Lewis of Strawberry Path in Oxford has been arrested.

He has been charged with one count of possession of a knife blade/sharp pointed object in a public place.

The 21-year-old has been released on conditional bail to appear at Oxford Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, April 8.
